16 gift ideas for scout leaders

If you're in a gift-giving mood this year and would like to buy a little something for your Scoutmaster, Cubmaster, or Den Leader, then I've put together some fun items that I think any Scout leader like myself would love! HINT HINT :)

I've broken down these gift ideas into a few categories for different types of Scout leaders:

  • Classic Christmas Gifts for Scout Leaders
  • Super Outdoorsy Scout Leader Gift Ideas
  • Crafty Scout Leader Gift Ideas
  • Silly Scout Leader Gift Ideas
  • Foodie Scout Leader Gift Ideas

Christmas gift ideas for Scout leaders

thescoutleader-snoopy-ornament
Number 1

Beagle Scout Christmas Ornament

I absolutely LOVE this ornament series from Hallmark. ANY Scout Leader would love to get an ornament like this. And, this is a series and there are a lot of them!

thescoutleader-nutcracker
Number 2

Scout Nutcracker

My wife got me one of these a few years ago and while I think Nutcrackers are creepy-looking, I love this once because it is a Scout. It makes me smile at Christmastime and I love displaying it.

thescoutleader-scoutlawposter
Number 3

Scout Law Tin Poster

This is a cool poster featuring some of the best Norman Rockwell Scout paintings. It's a fun piece for any Scout Leader's wall.

Gift ideas for Scout Leaders who love the outdoors

thescoutleader-hiking-socks
Number 4

Hiking Socks

I don't think you can have enough cool socks. I probably have 50+ pairs of socks (some plain, some wacky) and I love them all.

thescoutleader-cool-pen
Number 5

Cool Pen

I often lose my pen, let someone borrow it, or sometimes they magically disappear. How about a cool pen? There's no losing a pen like this - it's like a whole tool box INSIDE a pen! Super cool!

Your Scout leader would surely love and appreciate a neat pen as a gift!

thescoutleader-camping-mug
Number 6

Sweet new camping mug

It's important to have a good mug for camping. I like this particular mug for a few reasons: it's versatile AND it's not metal. I don't care to drink from metal cups, so a plastic mug like this one is a win from me.

thescoutleader-safari-hat
Number 7

Safari hat

These hats are not only great for sun protection, but they pack down nicely into a bag since they don't have a strong structure

Gift ideas for Scout Leaders who are super crafty

thescoutleader-amazon-giftcard
Number 8

Amazon gift card

As a Scout Leader, you're constantly called to create opportunities for your Scout youth to grow. These opportunities often require an activity or craft that has to be planned and materials purchased. If you run a Den, then you usually have a small budget to purchase materials, but that can easily run out and you'll end up buying some supplies on your own.

A gift card will certainly help compensate for those costs.

thescoutleader-leatherworking
Number 9

Leather working kit

This is a super fun-looking kit with all the tools, bits, and bobs to make something from leather. For an especially crafter Scout Leader, this would be a great gift!

thescoutleader-camping-outdoors-stickers
Number 10

Camping & Outdoor Fun Stickers

Ok, who doesn't love stickers? These vinyl stickers are not only fun, but a Scout Leader could easily use a pack like this to share with their Scouts as rewards/prizes/etc.

Gift Ideas for Scout Leaders who are fun and silly

thescoutleader-umbrella-hat
Number 11

Huge Umbrella Hat

Yes, this is a huge, silly hat, but it's also silly and totally ridiculous. As someone who doesn't really care for ponchos, I think I would actually enjoy a silly umbrella like this.

thescoutleader-bigfoot-socks
Number 12

Silly Bigfoot Socks

I mean. Do I need to explain? These are awesome! :) I can't say no to a silly pair of socks. And these are especially fun for a leader that likes being in the outdoors.

thescoutleader-pickle-bandages
Number 13

Pickle Bandages

Pickles? Delicious.

Bandages? Necessary.

Pickle bandages? Deliciously necessary!

Also, super silly and a great way to cover up a boo boo.

Gift Ideas for Scout Leaders who love to cook

thescoutleader-dutch-oven-cookbook
Number 14

Dutch Oven Cook Book

We have this book in our household and have already tried several of these recipes. Yum!

If your Scout Leader has a Dutch Oven (or even if they don't), this is a great little companion book with fun recipes gathered from Scouts across the US.

thescoutleader-cooking-thermometer-probe
Number 15

Digital Thermometer Cooking Probe

While a Digital Thermometer Cooking Probe is typically for cooking in the kitchen or on the grill, I think a thermometer probe is a great companion to outdoor cooking in a Dutch oven. Since Dutch ovens are a different style of cooking and can take longer than traditional cooking methods, keeping an eye on the internal temperature of the oven so you can regulate with coals and NOT have to open the oven is ideal. Let me know if you try this!

thescoutleader-smores-kit
Number 16

Indoor S'mores Machine

Bring the outdoors inside this winter! This fun little gadget is a perfect little kit for Christmas get-togethers, as well as for a fun Den Meeting indoors.

In closing

You don't have to buy anything for your Scout leader. Nothing at all. In fact, a nice "Thank You" would be perfect and greatly appreciated. Happy Holidays!
